A scaled, buildable plan for the whole property — layout, grading, hardscape, materials, and planting — with a phased estimate. Includes revision rounds, and the fee is credited toward your build. Priced by site size and scope.

A focused design for beds and borders, built around native and drought-tolerant species with year-round structure and bloom. Includes a plant schedule and placement drawing for an existing layout.

Licensed & insured
Cedar & Stone is a licensed landscape contractor carrying full liability and workers’ comp coverage, with proper permits and inspections handled as the work requires.
3-year plant guarantee
We stand behind what we plant. Trees, shrubs, and perennials installed by our crew are guaranteed for three years when paired with a care plan — if it doesn’t make it, we replace it.

Cedar & Stone is a small design–build studio working across Portland and the close-in suburbs. We keep design and construction under one roof so the drawing you approve is the garden you get — no handoffs, no surprises. Our work leans on durable hardscape, native and drought-tolerant planting, and the kind of grading and drainage details that decide whether a space holds up for decades. We take on a limited number of projects each season so each one gets the crew and the attention it deserves.

Book a consult
We meet on your site, walk the space, and talk through how you want to use it. You’ll leave with a clear sense of direction and a ballpark budget — no obligation.

Approve the design
We draw a scaled plan with planting, materials, and a phased estimate. We refine it together until the drawing matches both your vision and your budget.

We build it
Our own crew handles grading, hardscape, irrigation, and planting on a scheduled timeline, then walks you through care so the garden starts strong.

How long does a typical project take?
It depends on scope. After the consult, design usually takes two to four weeks of drawing and revisions. Build timelines range from a few days for a focused planting project to several weeks for a full design–build with hardscape and irrigation. We give you a scheduled window before any work begins.
What do projects usually cost?
Most full design–build projects we take on land in the mid five figures and up, with focused planting or refresh work coming in well below that. The consult is free and the design fee is credited toward your build, so you’ll have a real budget in hand before committing to construction.
Do you maintain the gardens you build?
Yes. We offer seasonal maintenance plans and garden refreshes for the spaces we install, and enrolling in a care plan is what activates the plant guarantee. Keeping the original crew involved means small issues get caught before they become big ones.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
Hardscape and structural work — patios, walls, and grading — carry a workmanship warranty, and plants installed by our crew are guaranteed for three years when paired with one of our care plans. We’ll spell out exactly what’s covered in your project agreement.
